It’s the most wonderful time of the year! No, not Christmas, it’s Halloween! Spooky movies, candy, and fall weather. Not much can make that better, except the Sideshow Spooktacular! What does that mean for you as a collector? Quite a few things! Here is what collectors could expect from the 2017 event.
Product Announcements
The most exciting part for me personally is the announcement of new products during the Sideshow Spooktacular. Some of my favorite figures from Sideshow, like Ash Williams and Jason were announced during the Spooktacular!
What will this year bring? Only time will tell, but I’m hoping for some more classic horror icons. An Ash Williams premium format would be amazing. I am also hoping for another Jason figure (fingers crossed for Part 6!) That being said, Sideshow stresses that Spooktacular is not just about the frights; be on the lookout for announcements from things like Star Wars, DC, Marvel, and more.
Sideshow Giveaways!
In addition to exciting new Product Announcements, Sideshow Collectibles loves to give away products during Spooktacular. Sideshow has said that they have over 10,000 dollars in prizes to give away this year; that’s a lot of collectibles!
Alongside the prizes, Sideshow released promo codes for reward points toward eligible purchases. Collectors followed its social accounts to find the codes as they appeared.

Sideshow used Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest to share Spooktacular announcements, giveaways and codes.
I set up push notifications on my phone to avoid missing giveaways and codes. Sideshow’s newsletter was another source of event updates.

Reward Codes, Discounts and Giveaways Were Different Offers
The event brought several kinds of promotion together, which could make a busy discussion thread difficult to follow. Reward-point codes added credit under the event’s terms; a discount reduced an eligible purchase price; a giveaway required its own entry and did not amount to a purchase discount. The archived discussion can show how collectors followed those offers, but a code copied from it is not a current benefit.
Product previews had a different purpose again. They introduced proposed collectibles, while the separate order listing established what was actually being sold. Treat this page as a record of the 2017 event’s format and the community around it, rather than an entry page or a list of usable offers.
