The One Sixth Society blog covers Hot Toys news, sixth scale collecting and the people behind the hobby. Articles range from new figure announcements and company history to artist interviews, display advice and honest discussions about the practical side of collecting. We preserve older reporting as a dated archive and update evergreen guides when newer information materially changes the answer.
Our Hot Toys coverage goes beyond a list of releases. Learn about founder Howard Chan and the company’s origins, revisit Hot Toys’ earliest Famous Type figures, or explore the appeal and scarcity of rare Hot Toys collectibles. Opinion and retrospective pieces are clearly framed so readers can distinguish original commentary from current product information.
Collecting is also about caring for, displaying and living with the figures. Our guides examine questions such as whether collectors should keep figure boxes, how to clean figures and their display cases, and how to choose display cases for action figures. Interviews with artists—including the K.A. Kim sculptor interview—document the craft and creative decisions behind collectible portraits.
Use the article cards above to browse the newest stories. For product-by-product research, visit the permanent Hot Toys figure archive. The preorder tracker focuses on upcoming releases, while reviews and videos provide closer examination of selected collectibles.
One Sixth Society is an independent collector publication. We aim to identify the source and date of product information, use original analysis where possible and correct material errors. Prices, availability and release estimates can change; consult the relevant manufacturer or retailer before making a purchase.
