A Hot Toys Star Wars wish list is a moving target. When this article appeared in 2017, the company had teased Poe Dameron and the collector line still had major gaps across the prequel and original-trilogy casts. We chose four groups or characters that seemed especially suited to sixth scale. Nearly nine years later, some wishes have been answered while others remain interesting precisely because no exact match followed.
2017 wish: Prequel Jedi Masters
Qui-Gon Jinn is essential to Anakin Skywalker’s story, yet in 2017 the available Sideshow figure no longer matched the realism collectors expected from newer Hot Toys releases. We wanted Qui-Gon, updated Obi-Wan Kenobi appearances and more Jedi Council members—including Mace Windu, Plo Koon and Kit Fisto—to stand alongside the newly announced Revenge of the Sith Anakin.
What happened afterward?
This part of the list aged well. Hot Toys later released a Qui-Gon Jinn sixth scale figure and a Mace Windu sixth scale figure. In 2026, another Qui-Gon Jinn MMS880 edition was announced, and the prequel roster continued to expand. The broader wish for a deep Jedi Council display is still larger than any one release.
2017 wish: Admiral Ackbar
With Grand Moff Tarkin joining the Imperial side, Admiral Ackbar felt like a fitting Rebel counterpart. The Mon Calamari design would give Hot Toys an expressive alien portrait, layered uniform and hands unlike the mostly human characters in the line. A command chair or starship-console accessory could turn the figure into a compact Home One display.
What happened afterward?
For this update, we found no official Hot Toys sixth scale Ackbar announcement in the manufacturer and authorized-retailer sources we reviewed. Other high-end Ackbar collectibles have appeared, but they do not fulfill the specific 1:6 Hot Toys wish described here.
2017 wish: Lando Calrissian
Lando’s blue-and-black Cloud City costume, cape and Billy Dee Williams likeness seemed made for a premium figure. His role in The Empire Strikes Back also made the omission conspicuous beside Han Solo, Leia and Darth Vader. The wish was not simply for any Lando—it was for the charismatic Baron Administrator look.
What happened afterward?
Hot Toys fulfilled this wish with Lando Calrissian MMS588, part of its The Empire Strikes Back 40th Anniversary line. The figure depicts Billy Dee Williams in the blue Cloud City outfit and cape requested in the original article.
2017 wish: General Leia from The Force Awakens
By 2017, collectors had Leia’s white dress represented, a Hoth version on preorder and an Endor appearance revealed. What we still wanted was General Leia Organa as she appeared in The Force Awakens: an older leader with a distinct costume, hairstyle and emotional place in the saga. The portrait would also have expanded the line beyond repeated versions of the original-trilogy heroes.
What happened afterward?
We did not find an official Hot Toys sixth scale product page for the exact Force Awakens General Leia requested here in the official sources reviewed for this update. The specificity of that costume is why the wish remains meaningful even after other Leia collectibles.
Why revisit an old Hot Toys wish list?
