What should I look for in a Hot Toys video review?

Look for clear, close views of the head sculpt, paint, outfit, joints, accessories and base. Comparisons with another figure can help establish scale, while careful handling can reveal restrictions or fragile details that official images do not show.

Any material relationship relevant to a specific video or review should be disclosed with that coverage. One Sixth Society’s purpose is to provide collector-focused information and independent commentary.

Using older reviews when buying secondhand

An older video records the sample as it appeared when reviewed. It cannot establish the condition of a different figure offered for sale today. Use the footage to identify the release and its parts, then ask the seller for current photographs of that actual item. For a figure with alternate portraits, clothing or weapons, compare the loose accessories as well as the assembled figure. A missing piece may be easy to overlook when the sales photograph shows only one pose.

The Catwoman review likewise discusses balance, which matters beyond the appearance of the face. Those observations are useful starting points for questions, not a guarantee that every example has the same problem. Check the written review alongside the video for the details that still images and short sales descriptions can leave out.
