Hot Toys’ Netflix-era Daredevil combines the crimson-and-black suit with interchangeable mouthpieces, billy clubs and a rooftop display. This video accompanies our original written review.
The Suit and Portrait
The reviewer liked the suit’s appearance and feel, but its tight fit limited movement. Two-piece boots allowed more ankle movement than a single solid boot would.
The cowl has glossy eyes and two lower-face options: a neutral expression and a bloodied snarl. The figure does not include an unmasked Matt Murdock head.
Clubs and Rooftop Pieces
The billy clubs come in separate, joined and cable-linked versions. A square stand, rooftop piece and backdrop build out the display.
The original verdict favored the costume and likeness over extreme posing. A standing pose worked well on the reviewed figure without stretching the suit as far as a deep action stance.
Small Details Beyond the Costume
The accompanying written review points out Braille lettering on the box, a thoughtful packaging detail for Matt Murdock’s character. It also compares the gloss of the cowl with the textured red-and-black outfit. Those different finishes are easier to judge in close-ups than in a full-body product shot. Treat the separate club arrangements as distinct accessory options when checking a used set: two short clubs, the joined configuration and the cable arrangement are not interchangeable descriptions of one loose piece. This review concerns the Netflix costume, so its portraits and equipment should not be used as an inventory for a later Daredevil release.
