NECA’s quarter-scale Raphael gives the 1990 movie Turtle his red bandana, bared teeth and twin sai. The original review compared him with Donatello and liked the finished figure despite a smaller accessory selection.
Raphael Beside Donatello
The two share much of their body construction. Paint, skin markings and scratches on the rear shell provide smaller differences, while Raphael’s sneer gives the face its own personality.
The bandana tails are fabric. Together with the sai, they help the figure read as Raphael without needing a completely different body sculpt.
Height and Included Extras
NECA lists Raphael at 16.5 inches tall with 30 points of articulation.
He includes interchangeable hands and a pizza slice, but no ooze canister. Our reviewer wanted an extra accessory to match Donatello’s package at the same original price.
Raphael Beside Donatello
The written review compares Raphael directly with Donatello and treats the shared body as both a strength and a compromise. Their size and construction make a consistent pair, but collectors hoping for a completely new sculpt should understand how much carries over. The expression, weapons, paint markings and shell scratches supply the character differences. Raphael’s smaller accessory selection was also judged against the original matching price, not against today’s resale listings. That historical comparison explains the criticism without suggesting that a missing ooze canister makes a Raphael box incomplete; this release was not supplied with one.
