NECA Catwoman Video Review: 1/4 Scale Batman Returns

NECA’s quarter-scale Catwoman recreates Michelle Pfeiffer’s stitched black costume from Batman Returns. This video accompanies our written review of the two portraits, outfit detail and difficult balance.

Two Masked Portraits

The cleaner head has a composed expression. The damaged version has a snarl and blond hair spilling through the torn mask. Both keep Catwoman’s cowl in place.

The costume is sculpted plastic with a glossy finish. Loose threads reproduce the film outfit’s stitching, but our reviewer found they could pull free during handling.

Whip, Taser and Support

A wired whip, cat-logo taser and interchangeable hands give her several display options. The sculpting and paint received strong praise.

The figure was difficult to balance, and the supplied stand did not fully solve the problem. One leg joint was also extremely stiff on the reviewed example. Those practical drawbacks matter alongside the excellent likeness.

Costume Finish Versus Real Fabric

The shiny catsuit looks like leather in photographs, but the review identifies it as sculpted plastic. The loose threads are separate details that imitate Selina’s stitched costume. That combination explains both the convincing appearance and the need to keep fingers clear of the threads when handling her. The two portraits change the scene more than a simple expression swap: the damaged mask and exposed blonde hair belong to a much rougher moment than the clean cowl. Select the portrait first, then judge the pose and whip position around that version of Catwoman. Our figure-cleaning guide covers gentle dust removal around delicate costume details.

Details Around the Mask and Gloves

The close-ups show that much of the suit stitching is raised in the sculpt, alongside the loose threads added to the costume. The gloved hands have individually detailed claw tips, and the taser has small prongs and a clip. The reviewer could not establish where that clip should attach, so the video is more useful for seeing the piece than for treating it as a fitting guide.

Near the end, both portraits are shown beside Batman and Penguin. The damaged mask has openings where the blonde hair comes through, with the hair already arranged in a messy style. That comparison gives a clearer idea of the three-character display than an isolated front view of Catwoman.
