Hot Toys Corporal Hicks (MMS930) Preorder

The short brown hair is sculpted, with the helmet designed to attach to that same head sculpt. You get both helmeted and unhelmeted display options without swapping to a second portrait. The rolling eyes are separate from that helmet arrangement, so you can adjust the direction he is looking as you change the pose.

Hicks spends much of the film surrounded by military equipment, but his face still needs to hold its own when you remove the helmet. The official prototype gallery includes close views of the portrait as well as full-body poses, making it worth looking at both before choosing how you want to display him.

The M3 armor has more character than a plain camouflage vest. Hot Toys identifies the red heart and padlock on the chest, the bullet hole and BORN AGAIN marking on the left shoulder, and other personalized details. Those little markings matter on Hicks because they separate his equipment from a generic Marine uniform.

The camouflage clothing sits underneath the armor, while the exposed silicone arms retain the service tattoo on his left bicep. The weathered boots continue that worn-in military look. These are announced prototype details, rather than a claim about how the final production paint or printed markings will turn out.

The seamless arm design avoids an exposed elbow joint in the sleeveless uniform. Hot Toys lists 18 points of articulation overall, but it has not supplied measured joint ranges or long-term pose tests. Keep the arms' material in mind when setting up a tight two-handed rifle pose, and follow the figure's instructions rather than forcing the shoulders or elbows to match a photograph.

The pulse rifle's moving forend, retractable stock and removable magazine give you several details to work with when setting up the display. The shotgun, knife and grenades offer different looks without changing the figure's costume. No firing mechanism or working ammunition is part of the announced feature list.

The white LED shoulder lamp suits a dark corridor scene, with USB power rather than an announced button-cell setup. If you intend to keep it lit in a cabinet, plan a cable route as well as space for the figure. Hot Toys has not identified the connector type, cable length or included power accessories, so wait for those details before buying a particular cable or adapter.

The grating base and Xenomorph remains give Hicks a setting straight out of an Aliens collection. The Alien Warrior Deluxe MMS899 is a separate figure you could plan alongside him; the remains on Hicks' base do not include a complete Alien Warrior.

Hicks makes a natural companion to Ellen Ripley Deluxe MMS895. A simple face-to-face arrangement can tell more of the story than giving both figures the most extreme pose their joints will allow. Leave space between their bases so the weapons and accessories do not crowd the head sculpts.

If you are planning the larger action scene, the Ellen Ripley and Power Loader set needs its own space calculation. It is sold separately and is not an upgrade package for Hicks. You can find the other current announcements in our Hot Toys preorder guides.
