Hot Toys Power Loader (MMS924)

Hot Toys recreates the yellow Power Loader from Aliens in sixth scale, with articulated claws, an opening cockpit and USB-C lighting. The roughly 20-inch machine is designed for an Ellen Ripley figure, which is sold separately with this release.

Power Loader: Box Contents

The Power Loader is available on its own or in a set with Ellen Ripley. These are two separate packages, listed below from the loader alone to the complete set.

Comparing the Ripley and Power Loader Set

The Ellen Ripley and Power Loader set comes with everything included with the standalone Power Loader, plus the items below.

  • (1) exclusive battle-damaged Ellen Ripley figure, with her interchangeable hands, outfit, accessories and figure stand.

Displaying Power Loader

The Power Loader is taller than a typical sixth-scale human figure before you start moving its arms. Use its published dimensions to choose the shelf, then check the room needed for the pose you actually want.

An empty cockpit makes sense for a machine waiting in the Sulaco’s cargo bay. Keep the claws low and let the yellow frame, harness and exposed hoses do the work. The measurements above describe the collectible; they are not a maximum reach for every articulated pose.

Ripley at the Controls

With a compatible Ripley added, place her hands on the controls and keep her face visible through the cage. A slight turn toward the front of the shelf lets you see both the operator and one side of the machinery. Check the harness and hand positions before settling on the angle of the arms.

Facing the Queen

If you are building the final confrontation, plan the two figures together. Open claws aimed toward the Queen tell the story more clearly than both collectibles facing straight ahead. The loader’s listed width does not tell you the space required for its arms at full extension or for the Queen’s tail; neither combined measurement has been published.

A Closer Look at Power Loader

The appeal of the Power Loader starts with how ordinary it is in the film. It is cargo-handling equipment, with a seat, restraints and gripping claws, and Ripley already knows how to use it. When she brings it out against the Queen, the yellow machine has a job we understand. That is why an unoccupied loader can still make a good Aliens display: it belongs in the world even without the fight.

That industrial character is also what to look for in the photos. The warning stripes, chipped yellow finish, exposed hoses and mechanical joints break up a very large shape. A clean yellow shell would miss much of the appeal. Here, the weathering continues across the frame and limbs, while the dark operator’s seat and blue harness give the cockpit its own detail to study.

The back deserves a look before you decide on a display angle. Hot Toys shows the wiring and rear framework in its product photography, so a slight three-quarter turn gives you more to see than a completely front-facing arrangement. It also keeps one claw from hiding the other. There is no need to reach for the widest possible pose to show off the mechanical construction.

Buying the Loader Without Another Ripley

This is the package to consider if you want the machine and already have a compatible operator planned. Hot Toys specifically describes it as sized for its sixth-scale Ellen Ripley, and the official page points to the current Aliens releases. Our Ellen Ripley edition guide covers those separate figures. That statement is not a fit test for every older Ripley body or for another manufacturer’s figure.

If you want the bloodied portrait and torn shirt shown with the new set, those belong to the MMS923 Ripley and Power Loader package. Buying MMS924 alone will not supply that Ripley later. The choice is the machine by itself or the machine with that specific figure; “Collector Edition” on the retailer listing is not a promise of an included operator.

The Alien Queen in the confrontation photos is also a separate collectible. Those images show what the loader can look like in a larger scene, not everything delivered in this box. Keeping that distinction in mind is especially useful when comparing a dramatic promotional image with a straightforward packing list.

What the Moving Parts Add

Articulated legs, arms and claws give the loader more options than a fixed diorama. You can show it parked, operating or confronting another figure. The opening cage and sliding joysticks also matter because they make the operator’s position part of the setup. A believable cockpit pose depends on the hands meeting the controls and the harness sitting around the figure, not just on putting Ripley somewhere inside the frame.

Hot Toys specifies more than 18 articulation points, but does not publish movement limits for every joint. The pictures are a useful guide to the intended poses. They are not evidence that every hose stretches freely or that an unsupported extreme pose will hold indefinitely. Position the limbs with the cables in view and follow the supplied instructions when the finished collectible arrives.

The lighting is straightforward: orange at the warning beacon and white inside the protective cage. The white interior light should help show the operator in an otherwise shadowed area, while the orange beacon remains a separate visual detail at the top. Hot Toys specifies USB-C power and excludes the connecting cable. The announcement describes lighting, not a motorized walking or claw mechanism.

Power Loader: Release Details

Hot Toys Power Loader is currently listed by Sideshow for US shipping in June–December 2027. Hot Toys gives a manufacturer release window of Q3–Q4 2027. These are separate estimates, not a confirmed dispatch day; Sideshow also notes that an individual order may ship as late as March 2028. The retailer window is the date shown in the buyer card above.

Hot Toys and Secret Base releases in Hong Kong can reach local buyers before US stock arrives. Overseas freight and retailer processing account for that gap; the roughly 6–8 weeks collectors often allow is a guide, not a guaranteed lead time for this release. Follow the shipping update for your actual order if either schedule changes.
