About Hot Toys Preorders

Browse upcoming Hot Toys preorders by character and release. Open a figure for its model number, photographs, included items and expected release window. Use the edition comparison to see which extras you get before choosing a version.

Start With the Character and Product Code

Match the character, film or game, scale and model number. A new costume or revised body can make two figures of the same character quite different. The code identifies the release more precisely than a retailer’s shortened title.

For example, Spider-Man Final Swing Suit MMS922 and Peter Parker MMS891 represent different actors, costumes and screen appearances. Their accessories and edition options differ, so compare each box list.

Compare Standard, Deluxe, Special and Artisan Editions

Edition names describe different packages, not a universal list of extras. Use the box contents for the exact release.

Edition What to Compare
Standard Version The starting figure, hands, costume and accessories listed for that release.
Deluxe or Ultimate Version The additions to the Standard package, such as clothing or a diorama. Check whether any Standard item is replaced or excluded.
Special Edition The named bonus for that package. A Standard Special Edition does not automatically include the Deluxe extras.
Deluxe or Ultimate Special Edition The corresponding Deluxe or Ultimate package plus its Special Edition bonus, carrying forward any stated exclusions.
Artisan Edition The specified portrait, hair treatment and accessories. Check which parts replace the regular version; do not assume both portraits are included.

The Cyclops MMS908, MMS909 and Special Edition comparison shows the standard contents first and then the additions. A collector who wants the jacket and Sentinel display has a different reason to choose an edition from someone who also wants the commemorative ring.

With Wolverine VGM91 and VGM92, the Omega Red bust and tendrils change the complete display. For Ellen Ripley’s Standard, Deluxe and Artisan packages, compare the sculpted or implanted hair and the Ovomorph display additions. The extras vary by release.

Do not count scenery from a promotional photograph unless it appears in that edition’s inventory. Another figure shown beside the product is not automatically included. Vehicle-only releases need the same check: a compatible rider may be sold separately.

Build a Team Without Repeating the Same Purchase

For an X-Men display, compare the costume and scale of Professor X with the Cyclops, Magneto and Gambit releases you are considering. For a team standing together, individual bases may be easier to arrange than several large dioramas.

Star Wars collectors can make a similar distinction between an individual character and a vehicle display. The AT-RT Driver and AT-RT package comparison separates the driver, walker and combined set. Checking that distinction before ordering is more useful than discovering that a promotional scene needs another purchase.

Check the Full Display Space

Figure height is only one measurement. Include the base, raised accessories, spread legs, cape and any effect extending toward the glass. A standing figure and the same figure in an airborne pose can need very different spaces.

Our display-case measurement guide explains how to compare a complete pose with the usable shelf opening. If the assembled dimensions or weight are unconfirmed, the figure’s height alone cannot tell you whether the full display will fit. Avoid buying a cabinet around an estimate alone.

Understand the Release Window

The manufacturer’s expected release period and a retailer’s estimated arrival are different pieces of information. Production timing, shipping and regional distribution can change when a particular order reaches you. Use the window for your exact edition and seller.

Quarter dates are broad planning ranges: Q1 means January–March, Q2 April–June, Q3 July–September and Q4 October–December. They are not a promise that the figure will arrive at the start of the first month. Check for an updated estimate when a balance request or shipping notice arrives.

Budget for the Order You Are Actually Placing

Compare the total after shipping and tax, not only the initial deposit. Read whether the deposit is refundable, when the balance becomes due and how cancellation works. Several figures scheduled for different quarters can still arrive close together after delays.

One Sixth Society does not sell figures or collect deposits. Your retailer handles payment, fulfillment and any order dispute. Our role is to make the figure and edition easier to understand before you choose where to buy.

Preorder Now or Wait for a Review?

Preordering can suit someone who already knows the character and edition they want and accepts the seller’s terms. Waiting gives you the chance to inspect production photographs and handling reports, although availability may change.

If costume movement, joint feel or the finished paint application will decide the purchase, use our figure reviews and close-up videos when coverage becomes available. Promotional photographs cannot settle those questions on their own.
