A Closer Look at Imperial Remnant Snowtrooper

The long coat and covered face distinguish a Snowtrooper from regular Imperial infantry. This remnant version adds heavy wear and an alternate head without the face mask.

The white Mouse Droid and handheld controller allow a patrol scene with the blaster lowered. The Imperial Remnant Stormtrooper Deluxe supplies another trooper from the same film, with a different selection of field gear.

The long hood and coat have a job in Star Wars. Imperial Snowtroopers are trained for arctic conditions, with insulated clothing, heated breathing equipment and a powered backpack. Those details explain why this soldier looks so different from a Stormtrooper in ordinary white armor. For an Empire Strikes Back collector, the covered face and skirt will be familiar from Hoth, even though this figure represents a later Imperial remnant.

It is also a different design from a First Order Snowtrooper. The two belong to different armies and periods, despite sharing the same basic cold-weather role. Check the helmet, chest armor and coat when comparing releases; a white suit alone does not make two Snowtroopers interchangeable.

Here, the gray-beige fabric and marked armor make the uniform look used rather than freshly issued. The little white Mouse Droid adds a different kind of Star Wars detail: equipment accompanying a working soldier. That makes this release useful for collectors who want more than another row of identical helmets, while still keeping the recognizable Imperial uniform at the center of the figure.

The little droid has a working role

Mouse Droids are part of the everyday machinery of Imperial facilities. Lucasfilm describes them carrying messages, guiding personnel and performing simple maintenance tasks. Their small wheeled bodies do not make them miniature combat droids. That background gives the controller-and-droid combination a reason to exist beside a soldier whose main equipment is designed for cold conditions.

A patrol or service-corridor arrangement can show the trooper directing the droid while keeping the blaster at rest. The two subjects do different jobs, which makes the scene easier to understand than giving both the same dramatic direction. The droid can appear to be heading somewhere; the soldier can look toward the route or the controller.

The white finish also distinguishes this supplied droid from the dark Mouse Droid familiar from many Imperial interiors. It is worth comparing the actual accessory photographs when looking at another Snowtrooper listing. A seller using a generic picture of a Mouse Droid has not shown the finish of the one in this release. The product's inventory and photographs should agree on that point.

The uncovered portrait gives this Snowtrooper another collecting angle. A sealed helmet makes the unit anonymous, while an exposed face makes the wearer easier to read as an individual. Neither arrangement changes the character into a named officer. Choose according to whether you want a uniformed patrol or a closer view of the person wearing the equipment. With the mask off, keep the hood and collar clear enough to see the facial sculpt; otherwise the main reason for selecting that head is lost among the layers.

The original Snowtrooper design was developed from Ralph McQuarrie and Joe Johnston's concepts. Lucasfilm notes how little it shares with ordinary stormtrooper armor beyond the eye area and pale color. The coat is part of a distinct design, not an added winter accessory.

Hot Toys Imperial Remnant Snowtrooper is expected at US retailers in September 2026.

Buying from Hot Toys or Secret Base in Hong Kong usually means getting the figure around 6–8 weeks before US retailers. Overseas shipping accounts for that gap, but the timing varies by shipment.
