A Closer Look at Kamen Rider Black RX

Kotaro Minami’s change from Black to Black RX brings the green armor, red eyes and Revolcane together. The regular and transformation belt plates show the Sunriser at different stages.

RoboRider and BioRider are Kotaro’s other forms in the same series: RoboRider has yellow armor and a gun, while BioRider has blue armor and a sword.

RX’s connection to the sun comes from his origin. Sunlight transforms the Kingstone inside Kotaro and gives him a new form after the events of Kamen Rider BLACK. The green armor and altered belt belong to that rebirth. This is the next chapter for the same man, rather than another person taking over the BLACK name.

His enemy in this series is the Crisis Empire, and the Revolcane is one of the clearest changes to how he fights it. Toei describes the weapon as concentrated solar energy. Its finishing attack sends energy into an opponent, which explains why a luminous blade is so closely associated with RX even though he still punches and kicks.

The solid and translucent blade options offer two ways to interpret that television effect in a physical collection. One reads clearly as a complete prop under ordinary light; the other lets light pass through it. Neither changes the character represented. They are useful alternatives for collectors who prefer a clean suit display or a photograph built around the glowing attack.

The Sunriser and green chest are worth keeping visible when comparing RX with the earlier BLACK costume. Those details carry the evolution of the design even when the sword is out of view. Owning both appearances would tell Kotaro’s progression; RX alone gives you his main look from the sequel series.

The smaller details of RX's powers

RX's wrist device has a purpose in the television story. The Wrist Bit lets Kotaro call Acrobatter and the car Ridron. It makes an extended wrist meaningful even without the Revolcane in his hand: he may be summoning a companion rather than preparing another sword attack. The collectible's wrist detail represents that device; it is not a remote control for the separately sold motorcycle.

The chest has a story function too. Toei identifies the Sunbask as the part that absorbs sunlight and converts it into the energy RX uses. That makes the central green armor more than a new color scheme. The belt distributes that energy through the body. These are fictional suit functions, but they explain why the chest and Sunriser remain such recognizable parts of Kotaro's second appearance.

RX also fights with an identifiable kick rather than relying entirely on the sword. In the series he strikes the ground with his right hand before launching into a two-footed attack. A still of the preparation can be a more useful reference for a supported figure than trying to copy the highest point of the leap. Check the actual joints and support first; a television stunt is not a test of the model's balance.

Those references provide several ways to show RX while keeping his regular green form. They are especially useful if you prefer photographs based on a specific action from the show rather than a lineup of figures all holding their weapons in the same way.
