A Closer Look at Acrobatter

The antennae and red headlights give Acrobatter its grasshopper face. The blue-and-yellow bodywork and RX markings complete the Rider Machine that belongs with Kamen Rider Black RX, sold separately.

Rotating wheels and rear suspension springs carry the motorcycle detail beneath that creature-like bodywork. It can stay parked beside RX or carry him in the supported wheelie pose.

Acrobatter has a history with Kotaro before it takes this shape. It is the reborn Battle Hopper, the living motorcycle from Kamen Rider BLACK. The same solar change that creates RX also helps bring the damaged machine back in its new form. That makes the bike a returning companion, rather than a replacement vehicle picked up between series.

Toei’s guide describes Acrobatter as able to understand and speak Japanese, with its red eyes expressing emotion. The grasshopper face is therefore more than a decorative fairing. When collecting it beside RX, the front of the bike represents another character in the scene, which gives a parked arrangement more meaning than an ordinary transport accessory would have.

In the television story, Acrobatter can change into other machines to match Kotaro’s forms. This collectible is the Acrobatter model; the listed contents do not include a conversion to Roboizer or Mach Jabber. Keeping the fictional machine’s abilities separate from the model’s actual features avoids expecting a transforming toy from the character description.

Its appeal also differs from a miniature motorcycle built purely around real-world engineering. The wheels and suspension are recognizable mechanical details, but the antennae, face and blue-and-yellow body are just as important to the design. Those are the parts that make it unmistakably RX’s companion when the rider figure is standing beside it rather than seated on it.

Why the bike has antennae and eyes

Toei gives the antennae a name and function: the Telepasizer receives signals from the Rider's Wrist Bit. That helps explain why Acrobatter's front looks more like an insect than the nose of a normal road bike. The red Hyper Eyes serve as lights as well as the machine's expressive eyes. Both features belong to its identity as a living companion.

There is a useful choice when photographing the model. A front three-quarter view emphasizes that face, while a side view explains the motorcycle shape and the relationship between the seat, wheels and body panels. Neither view tells the whole story on its own. If RX is seated, a shot from too far behind the rider can hide the very features that distinguish Acrobatter from an ordinary miniature motorcycle.

For a collection record, take one photograph of the bike without the rider and another with the separately sold figure. It keeps the machine's details visible and makes clear which parts belong to the motorcycle package. That is particularly helpful if you later compare Acrobatter with a different Rider Machine.

Hot Toys Acrobatter is expected at US retailers in April–September 2027.
