There are two looks for the BB Pod, from dark carbon to translucent yellow-orange. For a delivery pose, put the cargo-holding hand on the left and the thumbs-up on the right, where Hot Toys has sculpted Sam’s Ring Terminal.

UV light picks out reflective markings on Sam’s Drawbridge suit. That’s a different effect from the interchangeable colors on the BB Pod, and you can display the suit normally with all the cargo in place.

A Closer Look at Sam

The cargo mixes small silver cases with one larger gold case. Distributing them down the harness as well as on the pack gives Sam the lopsided silhouette he gets in the game on a heavy delivery.

Packing Sam the Way You Would in the Game

PlayStation’s porter guide makes one recommendation before sending Sam out the door: distribute the weight. A poorly balanced load can send him sprawling, damage a delivery and knock down the delivery rating. That’s what makes all the attachment points on the figure interesting. You can leave Sam with a relatively low pack and move the smaller containers toward his limbs, or build a tall stack above his head for the overburdened look players know all too well.

Look around the waist before you cover everything with cargo. The canteen, pistol holster, two grenade pouches and utility pouch each attach to the harness. Dollman belongs on the utility pouch, and the Odradek rides on the back armor. Put Sam at a slight angle to the viewer and there’s enough space on either side of his face to see the scanner, the BB Pod and the way he’s arranged his load. From dead ahead, the middle of a tall stack can disappear behind Norman Reedus’s head.

The other Death Stranding 2 figure with a very different loadout is Tomorrow in the Artisan Edition, with a tar spear and a base that takes interchangeable tar effects.

What Attaches to the Backpack?

Sam’s back protector, Chiral Antigravity Device and Chiral Crystal Holder attach magnetically to the pack. The Blood Boomerang is a separate folded piece that rides on the harness. You can therefore show the high-tech delivery equipment with Sam’s weapon hands empty, or leave the cargo down and give him the machine pistol for an encounter on the road.

The Junji Ito Suit Artisan Sam takes the same Death Stranding 2 porter in a very different direction with an illustrated white suit and implanted hair.
