The Review

NECA’s quarter-scale Michelangelo captures the playful personality of the 1990 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film. His expressive face and character-specific accessories give him an identity of his own, even though much of the body design is shared with his brothers.

Packaging, scale and articulation

The large window box uses familiar movie imagery and gives a clear view of the figure. It is functional packaging rather than a major attraction. Michelangelo himself has a substantial feel and stands 16.5 inches tall according to NECA, making the four-Turtle lineup an imposing display.

The articulation follows the same approach as the other brothers. The shared construction makes the set feel consistent, while the belt, rear shell and smaller sculpting differences help distinguish Michelangelo. The front shell on the reviewed figure has a particularly clean paint finish.

Nunchucks and character accessories

Michelangelo’s nunchucks translate well into this scale. The sticks have convincing surface detail and are joined by a cord. They suit both a relaxed pose and a display that puts his signature weapons front and center.

The pizza slice is a familiar inclusion from the other Turtles. A miniature bag of pork rinds adds a more distinctive touch, giving Michelangelo another accessory that reflects his personality in the film.

An expressive head sculpt

The head sculpt is the highlight. The broad smile, lively eyes and textured skin give the figure an engaging expression. His bright orange mask stands out against the darker green skin, and the paint brings the sculpt’s personality into focus.

Final Verdict

Michelangelo stands out through his smiling head sculpt, orange mask and playful accessories. The shared body design will be familiar to owners of the other Turtles, but his personality makes him an appealing figure on his own and a natural part of the complete quarter-scale lineup.
