Original review by Jon Deak.

The JazzInc 1989 Batwing is a sixth-scale vehicle with a detailed cockpit, working lights and removable wings. Jon was impressed by the detail, but a wingspan of more than four feet makes space the first consideration.

JazzInc 1989 Batwing size

JazzInc lists the Batwing at 44.92 inches long, 52.4 inches wide and 14.5 inches high. With all accessories attached, its separate measurements put the length at about 45.7 inches and height at about 16.9 inches. The wings detach, and the included mount supports horizontal or vertical display.

Cockpit, lighting and exterior details

The cockpit was the highlight of the hands-on review. The instrument panels and working lights reward a close look, and there is room for a Hot Toys DX09 Batman, sold separately. The magnetic canopy lifts away so you can reach the interior.

Exterior features include movable flaps, a Gatling gun and the optional clippers with saw used in the film sequence. They recreate the equipment seen during the film’s parade sequence.

How well does it display?

Horizontal display shows off the wings and cockpit; the included vertical mount offers another way to display the vehicle. Either way, its 52.4-inch width needs serious room. Leave access to the canopy and power connection, and use a support rated for the complete display.

Verdict

The cockpit, lighting and removable canopy make this a rewarding piece for a 1989 Batman collection. The drawbacks are its size and cost. It needs a dedicated space, but the detail impressed us enough to justify that commitment for a collector who wants the Batwing at sixth scale.

The official product page lists the original 1/6 Batwing as sold out with waitlist access at the time of this update. Availability can change.
