About This Video
NECA’s Donatello recreates the appearance of the practical Turtle costume from the 1990 film. This video accompanies our original review, which praised the sculpt, weathering and accessory selection. At around 18 inches, he is a larger display commitment than the sixth-scale figures often covered on this site.
Allow room for the staff as well as Donatello
The written review puts Donatello at approximately 18 inches tall, with a bo staff nearly a foot long. That staff can become the limiting measurement in a sideways pose even when the figure fits comfortably under a shelf. The movie-style skin texture, fabric bandana tails and weathered harness were among the details the reviewer praised.
The package also includes pizza, alternate hands and a damaged ooze canister. The canister is a useful completeness check because it distinguishes Donatello’s accessory selection from Raphael’s in our companion review. The article reported tight joints on its sample; do not interpret the advertised articulation count as proof that every joint on an older example should move freely. Judge the particular figure’s condition before attempting the poses shown in any review.
The 1990 movie Donatello in quarter scale
The original photographs show attention to dirty fingernails, skin markings and the staff’s wood-like finish. Those details reward a viewing angle that includes the hands as well as the face. For a compact arrangement, keep the staff closer to the body and place the ooze canister where its damaged surface can be seen. Check the available width before committing to a staff held across the shelf.
