A Closer Look at Ezra Bridger

The orange jacket and short hair place this Ezra in his Rebels years. His blaster, wrist communicator and borrowed-looking helmet keep the scrappy side of the character alongside the Jedi equipment.

The unhelmeted portrait is the one for a Ghost crew lineup. Zeb’s movie figure revisits another member of that crew later in his life; the two releases show different eras of the characters rather than the same Rebels costumes.

Ezra’s story starts on Lothal, where he learns to survive on his own before joining the Ghost crew. Kanan becomes his Jedi teacher, while Hera, Sabine, Zeb and Chopper become his family. The mix of scavenged-looking equipment and Jedi tools suits a teenager learning both how to trust people and how to use the Force.

His connection with living creatures is another important part of that training. Ezra can reach beings that other people misunderstand or fear. An open Force hand can suggest that side of the character just as well as it suggests an attack. It gives him a meaningful expression beyond standing with the lightsaber switched on.

This release also belongs to the animated Rebels interpretation, rather than the bearded adult seen in Ahsoka. The short hair and brighter clothing keep the earlier Ezra identifiable. Collectors following the character across both shows should compare the particular era, not assume that two figures named Ezra are interchangeable.

Within a Rebels collection, his equipment tells the story of someone still improvising. The practical belt, communicator and blaster sit comfortably beside the lightsaber because he is fighting a rebellion as well as training to become a Jedi. That balance is part of what separates Ezra from a formally robed member of the prequel-era Order.

Ezra built a different kind of lightsaber

Ezra's first lightsaber combined a blade with a blaster function. Lucasfilm describes its practical appearance as the result of materials and equipment contributed by his friends. That makes it a small record of his place in the Ghost crew, as well as an unusual Jedi weapon. The protected grip and broad shape are deliberate parts of the design.

It also gives collectors a useful reference when comparing Ezra appearances. He does not use one unchanged weapon throughout his story. Match the hilt and costume to the period you want to represent instead of choosing a blade color on its own. For this Rebels figure, the equipment should be read as part of the young character's evolving design, rather than exchanged indiscriminately with accessories from his later life.

Hot Toys Ezra Bridger is expected at US retailers in October 2026–March 2027.
