The Michelangelo Figure Behind the Giveaway
NECA’s 1990 movie Michelangelo stands approximately 16.5 inches tall and has 30 points of articulation. The manufacturer’s August 28, 2017 shipping announcement identifies him as the fourth Turtle in its quarter-scale movie lineup. His two nunchucks, pizza slice, pork-rind bag and interchangeable hands supplied the character-specific accessories.
The broad grin and orange mask give him a noticeably lighter expression than the more serious brothers. The body follows the same style as the other large movie Turtles, so the head and props are important when deciding whether to collect one character or the complete group. Quarter scale also makes this a much larger figure than NECA’s smaller movie releases.
When checking an older example, identify the scale on the box and lay out the food accessories as well as the weapons. A similar-looking Michelangelo from another range is not automatically the figure offered here. The original giveaway took place around this release period; the manufacturer’s shipping announcement is historical context, not a new delivery estimate or invitation to enter.
