Hot Toys’ Drax gave the original Guardians of the Galaxy lineup its long-awaited final member. This video accompanies our written review of the sculpted red body markings, weapons and two pairs of pants.
The Body Markings
The raised markings across Drax’s torso and arms were the strongest part of the written review. The sculpting and red paint give his bare upper body much more detail than a plain muscular figure.
Hot Toys used a plastic body with visible joints. Our reviewer liked the finish but found that the pants restricted leg movement.
Blades, Launcher and Ravager Pants
The two blades have metallic paint, while the rocket launcher uses weathering and rust effects to suggest worn metal. The gray pants can be exchanged for the included red Ravager pair.
The verdict was positive, particularly for collectors completing the Guardians team. The limited accessory selection and restricted legs were the main reservations.
Body Detail With the Weapons in Place
The two blades keep more of Drax’s torso visible than the large launcher held across his chest. That matters here because the raised red markings are the figure’s standout sculpting. The original review also describes a neon-colored Guardians art box that follows the rest of the team. If you are completing that first-film group, compare both the costume and the release being offered; a later character appearance is not automatically the same figure with a different accessory.
