Godai’s thumbs-up gesture gives Kuuga a relaxed pose straight from the series. A planted fighting stance also shows the red chest armor and belt clearly. Both can work without the kick effects.
For a Rider Kick, allow room beyond the right foot for the gold effect and around the lower leg for the Rising Mighty electric arc. The figure stands approximately 12.2 inches tall; a raised leg and extended effects need a wider display than that standing pose.
Rising Mighty changes Kuuga’s gold armor around the torso, wrists and hands, and adds the anklet on the right leg. The Rinto markings are part of those pieces, so there is more to the form change than swapping a belt plate.
For an early Heisei Rider collection, Kamen Rider Agito is the next television lead after Kuuga.
Godai’s friendliness is a big part of Kuuga. He is an adventurer drawn into the fight against the Grongi, with the aim of protecting the ordinary lives around him. That gives the thumbs-up hand a purpose beyond being an extra gesture in the box. It expresses the reassuring person inside the armor, something a fully enclosed helmet cannot do on its own.
The Rising appearance also has a story behind its gold trim. In Toei’s account, electrical stimulation changes the Amadam stone and helps awaken Kuuga’s new power. The gold equipment represents that development. It is a later powered-up form of Godai’s red Mighty appearance, rather than a decorative anniversary repaint.
That leaves two different reasons to choose a configuration: Mighty for the familiar red hero, or Rising Mighty for the upgraded look. The red armor remains central to both. A collector following the television story can change the figure as Godai develops without moving to an entirely different character or costume theme.
The gold piece on Kuuga’s right shin is the Mighty Anklet, and Toei connects it directly to the Rising Mighty Kick. It is an important detail when assembling the upgraded form, rather than an optional piece of matching trim. Toei’s form guide places Rising Mighty’s debut in Episode 30, ‘Fate.’ Watching that episode gives collectors a reference for the armor and the much greater force behind Godai’s finishing move.
That extra power creates a problem in the story: defeating a Grongi with the kick can cause a destructive blast across the surrounding area. Godai works with the police to draw enemies away from populated places before using it. This makes Rising Mighty more interesting than a simple stronger costume. The hero still has to protect everyone nearby, even when he has the power to win. For a collection following Kuuga’s television forms, keep Rising Mighty distinct from Amazing Mighty and Ultimate; Toei lists them separately. The Hot Toys changeover shown here is specifically between Mighty and Rising Mighty. The gold right-leg detail is one of the quickest ways to recognize which of those two appearances you have assembled.
Hot Toys Kamen Rider Kuuga Standard Version is expected at US retailers in July–December 2027.
Buying from Hot Toys or Secret Base in Hong Kong usually means getting the figure around 6–8 weeks before US retailers. Overseas shipping accounts for that gap, but the timing varies by shipment.
