Which John Wick Edition Has the Gold Coin?

There are two scales of coins in this box. Three little stacks and three loose coins belong on Wick’s table. The larger replica is the bonus that identifies MMS832B, and it’s big enough for you to hold. If you’re choosing by the portrait, Wick’s slicked-back hair is sculpted here. The separately listed Artisan edition uses wool.

Why Wick dresses in dark colors

Costume designer Luca Mosca says the first film’s budget meant starting with clothes off the rack, then altering and dyeing them. He wanted the lack of color in John’s wardrobe to reflect the grief of losing Helen. The movie suits often used gray fabric that could read as black on camera. Hot Toys lists this particular suit, shirt and tie as black. If you’re photographing it, a light off to one side will pick out the lapel against the shirt more clearly than straight-on light.

There’s a second look under the jacket, too. Wick gets a high-neck top as an alternative to the shirt and tie. That choice works especially well with his shorter pistol. Both pistols have a movable slide and removable magazine, but only the larger one has the removable silencer. If you’re matching the loose pieces back to the box, look for the longer barrel before trying to fit anything. His belt has two pistol holsters plus a separate pouch for magazines.

Which long gun is which?

Look underneath each prop before matching the accessories. Wick’s sniper rifle has the little sliding bipod, while the assault rifle has an adjustable vertical grip, stock and sights. The shotgun is a third weapon with its own movable holographic sight. Those details are more useful than comparing barrel lengths in a cropped photograph, especially if you’re checking that a used figure still has all five guns.
