A Closer Look at Anzellan Droidsmith

The tiny droid mechanics are full of character, and this larger format gives the wrinkles, gray eyebrows and beard more room than a small accessory figure would. The fiber hair against the sculpted face is a big part of that appearance.

Keeto LMS018 is the other Anzellan Droidsmith in the lineup. Their different faces give collectors the option of a small workshop group rather than two copies of the same character.

Anzellans are the tiny organic characters doing the repair work, not another type of droid. Their wrinkled faces, hair and oversized working tools are part of what makes them recognizable. The droidsmith description tells you their occupation; it does not mean the figure represents a machine.

Babu Frik made the species familiar to many viewers, but not every Anzellan is Babu. The later stories introduce other individuals. Compare the product name, face and clothing before treating two releases as the same character, especially when a listing uses only the broader Anzellan Droidsmith name.

Life-size is useful for a character this small. The face and tool details can be examined as a full-size creature likeness while the figure remains much smaller than a human collectible. It will look oversized beside ordinary sixth-scale people because it is. Choose it as a character piece in its own scale, rather than expecting it to match the proportions of a sixth-scale Mandalorian scene.

What a droidsmith actually does

A droidsmith works on the machines that other characters rely on. Babu Frik's Databank entry describes reprogramming and modifying droids even when their systems have protective security measures. That establishes the kind of specialist work associated with these little mechanics. The job is closer to diagnosing and changing a machine than simply tightening a loose bolt.

That background is useful for an Anzellan workshop scene. A repair can involve attention to a droid's head, circuitry or controls rather than a large mechanical part. You can suggest that work with a clear point of interest in front of the figure. The tools and the direction of the face should agree about what is being examined. A visible connection between the tool and the object being repaired makes the mechanic's role immediately understandable.

The life-size format changes the kind of props that belong nearby. A sixth-scale droid head would represent a miniature object beside this Anzellan, not a full-size droid component. That can still be a deliberate collection choice, but it is worth understanding the difference before calling the scene scale-matched. The word small describes the character; it does not tell you the scale of every product made from it.

A useful way to enjoy this release on its own is as a creature portrait with a few workshop details. Leave the eyes, brows and hands visible instead of filling the space with a complete human-sized toolbox. The character should look occupied, not buried. The expression and the worn working clothes already suggest a long day repairing other people's equipment, which is a very different subject from the armored heroes in most Star Wars figure lines.
