The original Hot Toys Deadpool figure prompted reports of rubbing between the removable glove cuffs and the synthetic-leather suit at the wrists. Our 2017 Deadpool wrist guide documented a collector’s attempt to reduce that friction. It did not repair torn material, and the treatment shown should not be assumed compatible with every costume or its present condition.
Identify what is moving against the sleeve
Look at the costume edge before changing another hand. A glove cuff rubbing an intact sleeve, a peg that resists removal and a coating that is already peeling are different problems. If moving the hand pulls the fabric with it, stop rather than forcing the joint through the resistance.
Photograph the wrist in its current condition and keep any detached material. A manufacturer or retailer can assess the issue more usefully with a clear close-up than with a general description of a stiff hand. Do not assume a leather-care product is suitable just because both materials are called leather: this costume uses a synthetic coating.
What the 2017 demonstration did
The demonstration used a product labeled Leather Lube at the contact area. It was an experiment on the reviewed figure, not a manufacturer-approved repair. No long-term follow-up or compatibility testing with other synthetic coatings was documented.
In the recorded procedure, a cotton swab was used to reposition the sleeve near the wrist socket and apply a small amount of lubricant around the contact area. The surface appeared shiny afterward. A clear appearance or lack of odor does not demonstrate that a treatment is harmless to paint, fabric or a synthetic coating.
The reviewer removed the wrist pegs from the chosen hands and applied the product inside the glove cuffs before reassembly. This records the procedure shown; it does not establish that the lubricant is compatible with another figure.
After reassembly, the reviewer wiped away excess product and reported smoother hand movement against the suit. That observation concerns immediate friction on one sample. It does not establish whether the treatment prevented later deterioration, and it cannot reverse a tear or replace material that has flaked away.

Keep the Record With the Figure
If a costume has already been treated, record the product used and the date, and keep the before-and-after photographs. That history can help explain a later change in finish. It is also useful information to pass to a future owner rather than describing a treated suit as untouched.
