The Review
The Hot Toys Terminator Genisys Endoskeleton makes its strongest impression through its mechanical detail. Moving hydraulic cylinders, an articulated jaw and a reflective metallic finish give the figure plenty to appreciate up close. Its light weight and familiar display base are the main compromises in an otherwise positive review.
Packaging
The packaging follows the presentation of the Guardian T-800, bringing a consistent look to the two releases. Film artwork and production credits round out the design. The two boxes look good together.

Mechanical detail and articulation
The exposed body is the highlight. Small hydraulic cylinders move with the joints, making the articulation part of the figure’s visual appeal. The range of movement has limits, but it suits the Endoskeleton’s mechanical construction.
The laser cannon and interchangeable hands add posing options. With its weapon in place, the figure has the imposing appearance that makes the Endoskeleton such a memorable part of the Terminator films.

Head sculpt, illuminated eyes and finish
The skull captures the character’s distinctive shape, while the moving jaw adds another useful point of articulation. Illuminated eyes give the face its familiar red stare.
The chrome-like finish is the strongest visual feature. Light catches the rods and plates at different angles, bringing out the layers of machinery. The close-up below shows the head, neck and shoulder detail of the reviewed example.

Where the figure falls short
The display base is a disappointment. Its design resembles the DX13 base, but it lacks the lighting feature. A more distinctive base would have made the presentation feel less familiar.
The figure also feels light in hand. That does not make it poorly built: the reviewed example felt sturdy and well made. Still, more heft would have complemented the substantial appearance of the exposed machinery.

What I Liked
- Moving hydraulic cylinders and articulated jaw
- Detailed mechanical body with a reflective metallic finish
- Illuminated eyes, laser cannon and interchangeable hands
What Could Be Better
- Light weight compared with its substantial appearance
- Familiar display base without the DX13-style lighting feature
Final Verdict
The detailed body, moving hydraulics and metallic finish are the strongest reasons to choose this Endoskeleton. The light weight and familiar base are drawbacks, but the reviewed example still felt sturdy and offered a striking display.
